The cobra XRS 9440 radar detector is a fairly decent radar/laser detector. It has been widely used for many years and for the price, it is one of the best. It has a 12 band protection that detects both radar and laser signals including X, K and super wide Ka signals. Whether it is used at night or during the day, the bright LCD screen easily displays the text making it easy to read. Like its predecessors, it also provides 360’ circumferential protection against laser signals.
The device is fairly easy to use and has a number of push buttons. While the range of radar detection capability has been argued over the years, most experts agree that it can easily detect radar signals at about a mile.
With its superheterdyne technology, the Cobra XRS 9440 consistently detects all types of police radar signals both in the city and on the highways. Other traditional features of the cobra model include a voice, land safety and strobe alert. When driving on the highways, the Cobra XRS rapidly detects all type of radar currently used by police. Like other radar detectors, it is completely immune to the VG 2 radar detector and even provides for an alert if there is a VG2 in the vicinity.
